The Craft Shop is finally on facebook, if you get a chance, please head over and give them a like, they only need one more Like to get the Fanpage.
When all the craziness is over, I will be posting pictures and reports of how it all went.  See you soon!

I'm back from my weekend in Arkansas

I had an absolutely wonderful time crafting with my sisters, niece and daughter - 3 wholes days of crafting, pure heaven!
Now I have to buckle down and get tons of stock available for my craft shelf at The Craft Shop because the biggest Arts and Crafts festival in the state of Missouri is rapidly approaching.  Here in Independence, at the historic square is the Santa Cali Gon Festival which draws more than 225,000.00 people and the shops and street vendors sell more during that festival then all the month of December!
My sister, Pam, asked me what Santa Cali Gon meant and I had to admit that I had no idea.  Off to Google I went and 5 minutes later found out that Santa Cali Gon was once called "The Three Trails" and it represents the Santa Fe Trail, The California Trail and the Oregon Trail - hence, "Santa-Cali-Gon".
I sure that this year will be just as wonderful as the past years for the festival, street vendors, international food, beer garden, Arts and Crafts, the Carnival, the music and everything else - including the inability to find parking.
Here is a photo of 2010's Festival, this was taken at night and I think it was Carnival night.

The 2nd photo is at one of the music stages, pretty nice music and completely free. I Think that there are 3 different stages.

New items for the Craft Shop

I made some mini thank you cards for the Craft Shop and another Journal.  I forgot to take photos of the journal before packaging it which is why you see it in the bag.  The "Thankful Heart" mini cards were made from the Thanksgiving Cricut Cartridge and I think they turned out so cute.  The pink mini cards were made from the Wild Card Cricut Cartridge which I'm in love with.  It has so many different card options that it's hard to choose one lol.

Closet Dog

I have a small closet in my craft room which is in the basement and Jackson (the dog) always follows me when I go into my craft room.  Coco-Puff (the cat) always follows the dog, she absolutely adores the dog (much to his dismay).  I believe the dog went into the closet in an attempt to hid from the cat - as you can see this did not work.

The Journals are selling.

Yay, I've sold 2 of the 3 journals that I put on my "shelf".  I put 2 news ones up on Monday and they had sold by Friday, looks like I need to get some more made!

Open For Business!

I went to the Craft Shop and set up my new space yesterday, my daughter went with me and helped arrange the items.  It's a small space, but will work just fine for me.  I don't have a lot of stock there yet, I'm working on that and I still need to decorate it better, add cloth to the shelfs and some twinkle lights and I need to buy some "S" hooks so that I can hang stuff from the sides.  But I think it's a good start and I'm so excited about it.
This is a tall Shelf, the 1st picture is the top part of the unit and the 2nd picture is the bottom half.

Yay! - I get to sell at the Craft Shop after all!!

Imagine my surprise when the manager of the Craft Shop called and offered the space to me after all.  I was thrilled.  I went and signed the 6 months lease yesterday and I will be setting up my little space this weekend.  I'm so excited and to make things even better, my "space" (more like a tall shelf lol) is right next to the cash register!  Now I just need to think about how to set it up and which products to sell.

The Purse and Card

With my family on the webcam, I made this really cute paper purse with 4 matching note cards.  I followed a tutorial that I found on you tube (Here is the link) and I made it for my niece Tessa's birthday but it will now be saved and given at Christmas LOL - facepalm.  I thought the cards turned out really well considering this is my second attempt at them.  I learned a valuable lesson regarding tutorials - it pays to actually LISTEN to them hahaha.  I made the first set of cards, complete with handmade matching envelopes, at the size of 4x6 and when I went to place them inside the purse guess what? They didn't fit! ummmmm ok, I went back to the video to make sure that It wasn't a mistake that I made and sure enough it was.  The video tutorial clearly states 4x5 not 4x6 cards, hence the 2nd set of cards lol.
I did at least make the Birthday card for the correct niece, Aaliyah and I hope that she loves it.  I had a lot of fun making the owl die cut on the front.  The owl is from the Cricut Sentimentals cartridge and the envelopes for the cards in the purse is from the Cricut Wildcard cartridge.

Crafting with Family via Webcam.

I had so much fun yesterday crafting with my family in Arkansas while I was here in Missouri.  We had our first "Craft together via Webcam" sessions and it was great!  We spent hours together and I was very productive, the only problem is I made the right gift for the wrong niece lol.  I got my nieces mixed up and ended up making a birthday present for my niece whose birthday was this past May instead of the niece whose birthday is today lol.  So... I will be making more (but different) of what I made yesterday and I'll try to post a picture of it later today.  I made the most adorable paper purse that holds mini note cards and it came out wonderfully - too bad it was the wrong niece hahaha.  The good thing is that I get to make another today - yay!  My daughter is coming over today to craft with me and it's going to be so much fun, can't wait.
